Call for nominations

The artistic directors and artistic directors of the partner festivals each nominate two outstanding young musicians.

Specialist advisors from the music scene also submit two nominations each. These form the longlist of around 16 nominations.

Longlist/shortlist

The Kulturkreis office requests video recordings of all nominated talents and compiles portfolios.

All participating festivals and consultants view the portfolios.

In a jury meeting, the proposals are discussed and reduced to a shortlist of four candidates. These are invited to audition with a renowned orchestra.

Final round: Public concert

In a public concert on 12 October 2024 in the Bremen Glocke, the four finalists will play accompanied by a renowned orchestra. 

Two prizewinners will be selected. Each festival, each expert advisor and the music committee of the Kulturkreis each have one vote. 

The two winners receive the prize money totalling €15,000 as well as an invitation to the partner festivals of the "Kulturkreis Tournee".
