Literaturpreis der deutschen Wirtschaft

Since 1953, the Kulturkreis der deutschen Wirtschaft has been honoring strong young voices in contemporary German-language literature and recognizing the diversity of literary forms and genres. The Literaturpreis der deutschen Wirtschaft is endowed with 20,000 euros and is awarded annually to authors under the age of 45. The focus is on works that are characterized by linguistic innovation, aesthetic daring and high literary quality.

 
Winners who have been supported by the Kulturkreis at an early stage include Heinrich Böll, Ingeborg Bachmann, Paul Celan, Günter Grass, Nelly Sachs, Marie Luise Kaschnitz, Elias Canetti, Robert Menasse, Daniel Kehlmann, Clemens J. Setz and Nino Haratischwili
