Working Group for Cultural Tasks Abroad (AKA)

The Arbeitskreis Ausland für Kulturelle Aufgaben (AKA) / Working Group for Cultural Tasks Abroad was established in 1957 as a nonprofit association by umbrella organizations of the German economy (BDI, BDA and DIHK). AKA-members are predominantly German economic organizations, however, individual companies are also represented.

The AKA helps companies to professionally conceptualize and realize cultural support projects abroad that have a relation to Germany. Support for charitable uses through emergency aid is also possible. As one of the few institutions in Germany, it offers the possibility to forward donations to institutions abroad. For that, donors receive from the AKA, a tax deductible donation confirmation. The project receiving the donation has to comply with the mission aims of the AKA. Mission aims are: direct support of cultural, politically educational and scientific events (tours, exhibitions, symposia or conventions), support of exchange programs as well as emergency aid. The AKA resides at the office of the Kulturkreis.
